Watching the movie with Jose
Mis queridos amigos y familia,
This week was good! A little crazy! But it's all good. Such is life when you're a missionary.
Mostly, I just have a ton of hilarious quotes from the week.
"Sometimes being obedient is just a waste of money!"
"You can still use trains when it snows! Have you ever seen the Polar Express??"
"I think there's a......senior meeting?" -Hna Chavez
"I think by the time the 5th generation rolls around, there's going to be A LOT of old people!" -Hna Chavez
All of the following quotes will come from our investigator Jose :)
"They called me Jose Jalepeno!"
"I want a girl that is just mine that only I can touch!"
"I'm just trying to expand my vocabulary, I didn't used to say man and bro."
"I would say to my teachers, wassup homie?!"
"We would clean every Saturday, and get new toothpaste and a new toothbrush and toilet paper...so it didn't really smell that bad." (On being "locked up")
"This one guy used to tell me when he died he was going to a dark carnival. Like what the heck? You believe in a dark carnival?? You believe in clowns and stuff??"
"I used to be really fit, like I almost had a 6-pack. I'm not trying to brag or anything."
"There were even girls there. I was like, HA! You're not going to do more push-ups than me. And I got second place. And I got that extra sandwich." (On a push-up competition while he was locked up)

Man. life is good here in Montrose! There's too much hilarity here, I can't even handle it!
The best part of my week was on Monday night, we had an appointment with Jose and we'd planned to watch a movie. BUT we couldn't get anyone to come with us, because the member we'd planned on bailed last minute. SO we show up to his house with hot chocolate and we bring a TV outside and we watched the movie there. It was so much fun. :)
This transfer is going to go by super fast. I'm not sure that I'm ready for that. We have a ton of meetings. And a ton of exchanges. But it'll be good! I'm excited.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!
Con amor,

MY CURSE IS FINALLY BROKEN!!
Hermana Chavez and I are staying together for another transfer! <3 We're both so excited, and I'm really excited about having a companion for more than 6 weeks FINALLY!
We had a crazy week. We both cried about less-actives breaking our hearts. But we saw some really cool miracles.
Like when I was on an exchange with Hna Eldredge. We found a new investigator (Julie) to put on date. We really weren't sure we should put her on date, just because there's clearly a lot of issues that she needs to work through before she can get to that point. BUT the lesson went SO perfectly that we just went for it. And she accepted! She was really happy and seems so eager to learn even more! Let's just say that we're going to have some really fun word of wisdom and law of chastity lessons with her... :)
I love Montrose. I love Hermana Chavez. I love la rama San Juan. I love being a missionary. :)

Life is good, and we're excited to see tons of miracles this coming transfer!
I love and miss you all!

"Most dead people aren't depressed." -Doctor Bowen, a keynote speaker at a Super Saturday I attended in Grand Junction.
(Rant about Grand Junction: The fire hydrants there are GREEN! I don't understand it! It's such a dang weird place!)

Sister Murdock and I
Friends and family,
The library I'm sitting in smells like weed. Welcome to Colorado.
We had a really good week this week. Hermana Chavez and I have so much fun together.
This Tuesday, I got to celebrate my "one year of being in Colorado" by having a Zone Conference! So I took a picture with my mission president's wife and with the out west assistants since they were both in my first district. :)
We saw a really cool miracle this week! Hermana Chavez and I had decided that we were going to go tract on one street while we were planning the night before. When we got to that street, we both felt so wrong about it. So we said a prayer asking what we were supposed to do. Hermana Chavez suggested that we go try this one referral we had received a while back. So we did that. And we found the referral we were looking for! Not only did we find her, but we found out that she's a former investigator who really wanted to get baptized. And her sons are all members! We're really excited to start teaching her!
Transfers are next week. Hermana Chavez and I have no idea what's going to happen. But I have been in the streak of having a new companion every transfer. So we'll see how that goes.
To be safe, please send mail to the mission office!

The funny quote of the week: (about my back/neck/head pain and me enduring it to go through lessons)
The Beatles Bus. :) <3
"Like, I don't know if it's healthy, but I like that you have that faith!" -Hermana Chavez, the Mexican who can't make quesadillas, probably because she's not a real Mexican. ;)

Doctrine and Covenants 64:33-34

Friends and family,
This week was fabulous! You should all know that...
I DANG LOVE MONTROSE! :) That's pretty much all. It's great here.
This week, we had exchanges. And I stayed in Montrose with Sister Davis! And, everyone, I did NOT get lost ONCE! :) Or multiple times, even. I just did a-okay. :) we had a pretty successful day and everything. It's always a little bit nerve-wracking to take over an area, even if it's only for 24 hours, but it's nice to just do it and get it over with! And I did it. So I could do it whatever! It's all good! But, we did morning exchanges. SO we had to wake up REALLY early to go meet at Delta by 6:45. Lame. SO I was EXHAUSTED. But it's all good in the hood! Goal: Take a nap today.
By the time exchanges were over, I was SO excited to be back with Hermana Chavez! :) Sometimes exchanges help you realize how much you love your companion. :)
Conference was
SO. GOOOOOOOOD.
I loved it. SO much!
I hope you all watched it. If you didn't, go watch it. Because it's so worth it.
We were invited to "ponderize" a scripture every week. I'm totally doing it. All of you should, too!
My scripture of the week is the subject line of my email. That's probably just what I'll do for the rest of my mission. :) And of course I have to have a funny quote, so I'll end my emails with that instead. :)
Okay. I love and miss you all. I really just don't have too much to say today. I have Zone Conference tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it! :) Because tomorrow is exactly a year since I arrived in Colorado. :) So I'm totally taking a picture with President and Sister Murdock to celebrate the occasion! :)
--Hna Chavez in our awesome matching pajamas. :) Be jealous
Have a great week.
Remember:
Keep on truckin' for Jesus.
