Farmer Tans in Eagle

My dear friends and family:

My favorites
I suppose the first order of business to attend to in this email is to inform you all that I am no longer in Denver. I'm currently serving in the Eagle Valley area with Sister Adair! Which is great. Because we already knew each other because we were in the same district for 3 months! Other happy news about this: I get to be in the same district as my mama! Sister Arnold! And I'm deliriously excited about this, because we both kind of thought we weren't going to see each other again in our missions. And here we are. :) It's great. Sister Adair is a Sister Training Leader, so I get to have the whole nonsense again like when I was with Sister Noakes. EXCHANGES ALL THE TIME! YES. But it'll be good. I'm excited. I miss Denver and all of the people that I loved there. But I'm glad to be here. Also, this is Sister Adair's last transfer. So I get to be a killer. Otra vez! I just always kill the STLs.

This week has been a whirlwind, it all went by SO fast. And this week is jam-packed with things to do. So. It's going to be another one like that. WHY DOES TIME GO BY SO FAST? I might be having mental breakdowns, because Friday was my 7 month mark. I don't understand how it all goes this fast..

But this week!

So Monday night I had to say goodbye to some people. Like Juan. And it destroyed my soul. And then the Elders in my district just made me cry all night. But we're not going to talk about that.

Tuesday I came to Eagle. I got to ride in the transfer train and it was kind of miserable. But it was fine. I survived. When I got off though, I got to see some of my favorite people! Like, Elder Clubb! He was the first person I saw! And it was so happy! :) And Sister Arnold! And then my favorite reunion of all: SISTER CHANDLER!! Best thing of my life. It had been 6 months too long! I was so glad to see her. :) We took a picture...but it's on her camera. So I'm waiting patiently (not really) for her to email it to me. But it was the literal best thing of my life.

Thursday we had a baptism! Dorothy is AMAZING. She's from Louisiana and was only here temporarily for work. She goes back this week. But she's amazing. Her story is so crazy, and I probably won't even do it justice, because I wasn't here for it. So.. Sorry. But she's amazing. She's going to be a great member. She's so excited to go home and meet her home ward and just tear it up and share the gospel with the world. CONVERTS ARE THE BEST.

Last night we had a fireside. President and Sister Murdock drove here from Denver to watch Meet the Mormons with out ward. It was amazing. So, so great.

Other random ramblings:
I have a farmers tan. :) I got sunburned, but it's just turned into a tan. And I have tan lines from my watch and my shoes. And a little bit of one from my ring. SUCCESS. I'm the most excited about the watch tan line. That was my goal in life. It looks so ridiculous when I'm not wearing my watch, so good thing I always am in public. hahaha.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH AND SHARE THE VIDEO BECAUSE HE LIVES. Seriously. It's amazing. And use the #BeacuseHeLives when you share it, too! Just go do it. Now. YES.

AND! General Conference is this weekend! I hope you're all going to watch! Because like, can we talk about how AMAZING it is that we get to listen to our LIVING PROPHET'S VOICE? yeah. It's pretty darn cool. So I would invite you all to watch it. And prepare questions!

Have an amazing Easter and General Conference weekend! Learn lots!

I love and miss you all!

"Tu no sabes nada." -Frida

To my lovely friends and family,

This email probably won't be super great, because I have to get out of here relatively quickly. Because I have to go back my bags. Because I'm getting transferred. And there's a lot of feelings about it. I'm happy and sad and...yeah, all of the feelings.

I'm super glad that I've had this opportunity to serve here for 6 months. It's been the best. I've loved these people more than words can describe. And I'm really excited to go to a new area and love these new people!

I'm so grateful for this opportunity I have to serve a mission. It is the most amazing thing of my life and I've been growing so much.

I love and miss you all SO much!

Con amor,

"I'm like milk chocolate, with more milk." -Luis

Hola familia, amigos, y otros!

It's been another week! How. Crazy?

Even crazier thing?

Transfers are next week. :o #terrified

I've been in Denver 1st North for 6 months. And I feel like it's been confirmed to me multiple times that I'm being transferred. So I'm sad. But also happy. I don't know how to even describe it. There's a lot of feelings. But such is the life of a missionary.

And with transfers being the way they are: if you need/want to send me letters/packages/what have you this week, PLEASE send them to my mission office:

Okay, thank you!

I don't have a whole lot of time to write this week.

But I just wanted to tell you all that I love my mission. I love this opportunity that I have to be here, to serve God's children. I love this opportunity to share the true and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. To teach people about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and to truly learn myself how to apply the atonement in my life. I know with every fiber of my being that these things are true. I've been blessed more than words can say.

I love and miss all of you. Praying for you always.

Con amor,

Hermana Sherilyn Harper

"I want to be a Pokemon trainer." "I'm pretty sure you can go to college for that."

And such is the geekery that is in my District. I love it. :)

This week was long....and so short....and lasted forever....and flew by. Just like normal.

This week started out really rough, actually. I was having a really, really hard time. But now all is well. We saw TONS of miracles on Saturday and Sunday. Probably because we worked our guts out. It was the best ever.

So, basically, I just want to talk about my new favorite person IN THE WHOLE WORLD! His name is Luis, and he's the greatest. He's our investigator that we just put on date. We found him while we were tracting and he is RIDICULOUSLY prepared! He wants so badly to change his life. He is amazing. I just want EVERYONE to know him. That's how great I think he is. We had the privilege of seeing him 3 times yesterday. Once when he came to church. Next when we taught him lesson one and put him on date. And last when he came to a baptism right after we put him on date. After the baptism, there was a struggle to get the plug out of the font. So we were all trying to help. But it was hard. So I turned to Luis and asked him if he wanted to get baptized right then? So we joked about it a bit. But he's so ready. Elder Bang heard me say that to Luis, and he later informed me that we had found the most solid investigator ever. Also, when he came to church and the baptism, he was wearing a suit. He is going to be a beautiful member! I love him SO MUCH!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Read the Book of Mormon for 30 minutes every day! It will completely change your life, I promise!

Con amor,
Hermana Sherilyn Harper

"Elder Marin, can you pop out of a cake at my bachelorette party?" Elder Bang

Hola familia y amigos!

This week was mostly really difficult. Everything that could have gone wrong this week, went wrong. And it was emotionally trying. But it was just a trial of my faith.
We had so many miracles yesterday. So many. We went out tracting for two hours. (Because the white hand book lies and Sundays are one of the hardest days to tract and be successful. So we have to do twice as much on weekends to be as successful as we are during the week.) But we were able to find 4 new investigators, and a couple potentials.

Then we went to go see our less-active member and she had a non-member friend over. We ended up teaching her friend about The Restoration, and our less-active member shared such a powerful testimony and it was the best. Later, she told us that she's been thinking about serving a mission.

"Dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."

We will receive blessings based on our obedience. And as long as we are working hard and being obedient, we are promised that we will receive blessings.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Sherilyn Harper
